SOLVED: TS-873U-RP - no SFP+ connection

Post by craigreilly »

SFP+ card came with the unit.
Added the approved Melanox SFP+ Transceivers

When connected directly to each other: link is up. (local loop basically)
When connected to a TP-Link switch Jetstream T1700X-16TS - no connection

I have tried different SFP modules - to the same issue. Tried the Melanox in my TP-Link switches and they both connect fine.

So there is some configuration option I need to make... just not sure what I missing. Any help is appreciated.

Since the 873u are very new, I would first suggest opening a helpdesk ticket with QNAP.

Secondly, have you tried updating to the new b299 firmware that was just released? Is your TP-Link switch on it's latest firmware?

Do have a ticket open...but figured I'd try here too

Did update Qnap firmware...
Didn't think of updating TP-Link but will try that in the morning.... (no firmware updates available)

Thanks for your response.

I had to change the SFP+ port on the TP-Link switch from AUTO to 10G.
Once I did that it came right up.
Popped into my head about 3am.
Doh!
