HOWTO: Command line user administration

Post by pivert »

Hi,

As the folder access rights is becoming more complex, and because of the "Apply changes to files and subfolders" options that are checked by default, I administer all the access rights in command line, using getfacl / setfacl commands on folders.

To facilitate operations and especially tests, I use some shell scripts that set or check access rights.

But I'm still missing several command/concepts from QNap:
- How can we get the groups a user is belonging to. Linux Groups command does not work. I tend to grep into /etc/group, but is there a command that lists groups ownership ?
- How can I get the access rights computation for a user on a file or folder (exactly like the preview in web interface).
- How can I list & edit the Shared Folder Permissions from command line? It seems not managed by set/getfacl as it's top level shares.

Thanks,
