NAS Management on Windows

Post by scaigs » Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:08 am

Is it there an equivalent of iOS Qmanager for Windows without the need to open a Web Browser?
QNAP TS-870 + 10GbE Dual NIC, 7x Western Digital RE 4 WD4000FYYZ in RAID 5 (6+1)/1x Samsung SSD 850 PRO 512Gb (cache), FW: QTS 4.2.x, Netgear ProSAFE Plus XS708E 10-Gigabit Ethernet Switch, Intel Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X540T1 on desktops and Intel Ethernet Converged Network Adapter X540T2 on servers.

Why do you want that?
RAID have never ever been a replacement for backups. Without backups on a different system (preferably placed at another site), you will eventually lose data!

A non-RAID configuration (including RAID 0, which isn't really RAID) with a backup on a separate media protects your data far better than any RAID-volume without backup.

All data storage consists of both the primary storage and the backups. It's your money and your data, spend the storage budget wisely or pay with your data!

what about QCenter ?

It needs to run in a VM+Web Access, never tried it but it's a management tool, if you want to have a dedicated QNAP management program, build a SSB
