DHCP Difficulties

Post by FarFlungFish »

Hi All,

Have read a lot of posts, but cannot seem to find an answer to this.

My TS-419P+ will not pick up an assigned IP from the networks DHCP server.

I used to have it set to a static IP x.x.x.221. I now need to to pick up an assigned one from the DHCP as a reserved one is allocated to it.

Can anyone help?

Kind regards in advance

Not enough info provided. Firmware version? Where is the DHCP server running? Is it on the same segment? Is the reserved IP in use? Can you ping it? Logs on the DHCP server show anything? What IP does the NAS have? Have you done a network trace? What is the network setup on the NAS? Etc. etc. etc.
Use the forum search feature before posting.

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.
