QuFirewall loggin local Traffic as Hits

Post by alfredborges »

Testing the Qufirewall app

Getting lots of "hits" on the firewall - 20 K or more a day

did a packet analysis and found that they were all expected local traffic

This cant be good behavior - the number of false positives renders this tool useless
Plus getting routine notifications about these that I have not been able to shut off

at this point, I am going to uninstall Qufirewall and caution others on the shortcomings I;ve found

I came to a similar conclusion when QNAP first released their *cough* “firewall” about six months ago.

It is not really a firewall at all, but QNAP has been very fast and loose with their marketing over the past few years - disingenuous at best, bordering on flat out lies at the worst.

But as always, caveat emptor is always applicable.
