Hi Guys,
This is Karolina from Xopero!
Today we have just released the latest update of Xopero – a backup solution dedicated for QNAP NAS servers that turns them into a private cloud backup.
As the IT world never stays still Xopero is also being incessantly developed in order to fulfill the needs and to meet the customers’ expectations. The latest update extends many important functions. It is worth mentioning that among all updates Xopero has introducted VMware virtual machine backup and provided an integral support for websockets.
VMware virtual machine backup
Now, Xopero allows users to easily back up virtual machines - without complicated configuration and necessity of shutting them down. Backups are smaller thanks to the compression and deduplication.
Websockets
The latest update also introduces an integrated support for websockets, providing much faster communication between Xopero applications. The companies managing a great number of endpoints will particularly benefit from the new solution because now the configuration of such environment is going to be much easier thanks to websockets.
The update also brings minor modifications that significantly improve the user experience. A loading license process now takes place directly from the file. Moreover, the auto-login feature has been changed. If there is no connection to the server, the login window will not be active. Also, the database performance has been optimized.
The new update also introduces:
• support for Hyper-V cluster,
• extension of MS Exchange backup options: backup of a single mailbox or the entire Exchange database,
• all hosted services run on a single port. Http and https are separated,
• new version of PostgreSQL has improved stability and performance of Xopero,
• older QNAP NAS servers' support improved.
Application update is not the only change that awaits QNAP users in the near future. In August, Xopero Freemium - a free software version offering a complex protection of three endpoints - will be available in QNAP App Center.
