QNAP TS-251+ Linux Remote Connection/Mount

Post by sweetthD3ViL »

Hello all,

I use a QNAP TS-251+ for work and manage to connect my work laptop (running Archlinux) to mount the drive whilst I am onsite (on the same network) using the following line on my /etc/fstab:

//172.XXX.XXX.XXX/NameFolder /mnt/qnap/NameFolder cifs rw,username=MYUSERNAME,password=MYPASSWORD,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777

But I also want to be able to mount my drive whilst I am working from home or anywhere away from my office, so I have been trying to add the same line on my fstab wit a noauto and using the ip address from the business to connect (same as the one I use to connect via the HTTP webpage). But that obviously doesn't work.

Am I missing something there? Can't see any option in the control panel that I would have missed.
