TS-859 Pro+ compatible with 4Tb or 6Tb Enterprise Capacity?

Post by Rowgraria » Tue Jan 31, 2017 7:41 am

Hello,
Have to upgrade the drives in TS-859 Pro+. Would like to use Enterprise Capacity hard drives in one of the following 3.5" categories:

- ST4000NM0035 (4Tb, 512 native, SATA III, V.5)
- ST4000NM0115 (4Tb, 512 Emulated, SATA III, V.5)
- ST6000NM0115 (6Tb, 512 emulated, SATA III, V.5)

Not sure if drives in these categories would be compatible.
Does anyone have experience with this drives in the TS-859 Pro+ unit?

Thanks in advance!

Did you check the compatibilty list?
Read the Online Manuals and use the forum search feature before posting.

It is a recommended to use RAID and have external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.

Submit bugs and feature requests to QNAP via their Helpdesk app.

Thanks for your reply, Don.
These drives are not on that compatibility list. That's implying only that they are not tested for the TS-859 Pro+, but still might be compatible.
I was wondering if someone tried them. I submitted request for testing to Qnap, if honored, it will take some time. I expect they would have low priority for testing these drives for an older unit.

Thanks.
