Hi All
I am just wondering if anybody has tried to run the 4TB Seagate ST4000VN008 on a TS212 NAS? if so what was the outcome?
I don't see it listed in the compatibility list but am interested if anyone has experiences with it as need something to replace my failed 2tb seagate and pair in RAID 1 with a 4TB WD RED NAS drive.
Regards
Tommy

Cant see why it should not work... It will be well below the 16tb limit and they are specific nas drives.
Im running 2x 2tb ironwolf drives in my 212 with zero issues

OP asked about this 9 months ago. They were replacing a failed drive - so it's safe to say they found a solution.mushymarlin wrote:Cant see why it should not work... It will be well below the 16tb limit and they are specific nas drives.

Indeed I found a solution, I went and decided to buy another WD RED, didn;t want to chance the loss of another seagate drive and the WD dropped in price a few days after the original post so difference turned out to negligible.

for the moment it is 60ft x 20ft and well ventilated so doesn't get too warm, + I live in Ireland, we never get too toasty here anyways ...dolbyman wrote:how is the attic in the summer ? .. might get toasty in there
