TS-251+ and IronWolf Health Management!!!!
I have installed the latest IronWolf ST4000VN008 4TB (that has HM enabled) on my TS-251+ updated to latest firmware 4.3.6 (that has support for HM) and I can't let it recognize HM at all!!!
Have hit Test as mentioned here, and also the Rapid Test in Control Panel > Storage & Snapshots > Storage > Disks/VJBOD > Disk Health > Test , all on both disks...but still NO IronWolf Health: Not available!!!
What is this all about?!???

On a Dutch forum it is mentioned that some newer Seagate Ironwolf drives are not compatible with the IHM implemented by QNAP.

I re-did my raid all from scratch from static to thin provisioning....and I don't know why now I see "Healthy"...so that they are recognized.
So...mysteries??

Re: TS-251+ and IronWolf Health Management!!!!
Did you get anywhere with support, I'm not about to rebuild my RAID?
I have a TS-451+ and put a ST8000VN0022 in it and happy to see IHM working, this was 18 months ago - a good reason to choose IronWolf over others.
But... bought another 8TB IronWolf last week and got the updated version ST8000VN004 and this does not give the option for IHM.
Clearly, the difference is with the drives. Perhaps Seagate have updated the IHM implementation and QNAP have to catch up but I doubt this, the earlier drive is on a later firmware SC61 when the newer drive is on SC60.
Either way, if Seagate are going to have sketchy vendor support then I'm going back to Reds to swap out the next 2 drives.
I have full-scanned the disk but IHM still does not appear as an option on that disk. I have open support tickets with Seagate and QNAP and updated to QTS 4.3.6.

Please open a ticket with QNAP.
Read the Online Manuals and use the forum search feature before posting.
It is a recommended to use RAID and have external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.
Submit bugs and feature requests to QNAP via their Helpdesk app.

Re: TS-251+ and IronWolf Health Management!!!!
Had already done that. Happy to say that so far the QNAP support has been to the point and prompt, worlds apart from the other end of this equation. Now looking at my log files - a firmware update, reboot and full disk scan have not made the IHM appear. It's now off to 2nd level support.

Re: TS-251+ and IronWolf Health Management!!!!
Hi, just wondering if you were able to sort the issue out with the ST8000VN004 with your QNAP please? I am looking to get ST8000VN004 too and my QNAP is P219 PII. Looking at the compatibility list on QNAP's website, it suggest that this model of HDD is compatible but then I came across your forum query.
Also your ST8000VN004 is resolved and you've kept the the unit, wondering what your thoughts are on this after using it for over a year since your pose please? Many thanks

Forget about that in your 10 year old NAS ..that feature will never be implemented
