Hey,
anybody there, who has tested the Seagate Exos X18 Series?
I'm interested in the model with 18 TB - ST18000NM000J - for use in my TS-431K (4 drives, RAID5, only 1 GBit Performance needed).
This HDD is not listed in the compatibility list yet for my NAS. With 18 TB capacity only the Ironwolf Pro Series is listed.
So I checked the datasheets of the 16 TB models. But here also the X18 Series is not listed.
Just the X16 Series or again the Ironwolf Pro Series are listed.
So I'm asking especially for experiences with the X18-Series.
In comparison at Seagate between the X16 and the X18 series, the X18 seems just to be more energy efficient.
Thanks a lot for any comment on using X18 Series and please excuse some mistakes in language =).
Anyone tested Seagate Exos X18 (not X16) Series (and in TS-431K)?

They should be fine, even when not listed. I am using them in my TS1635AX, very happy with them. Had the chance to get them for 350€ instead the Ironwolf Pro for 550€. Both are enterprise drives, so not much difference here. The Exos lack two things: IHM and the noise level. The Exos are not silent, but if that's not a problem for you, they are an excellent deal. Prices should have dropped to around 400€ right now.
I am getting 230 MiB on sequential speed consistently, even when other tasks run. The WD RED 14 I had previously droped to 90 MiB here.
