Hi,

just seen that WD had published 12 and 14 TB drives.
These are using the same specifics as the smaller ones, but get an EFFX instead EFAX (or EFRX for pro).

Any hint there why that changed?
NAS (production): TS-1635AX FW: QTS 5.1.4.2596 build 20231128

RAM: 8 GB (QNAP shipped)
UPS: CyberPower CP900EPFCLCD
BACKUP: 10x4TB WD Red using a USB 3.0 Dock
Usage: SMB with rclone (encrypted)

NAS: TS-873U-RP FW: QTS 5.1.4.2596 build 20231128
Data (SSD): [RAID-10] 4 x 1TB Samsung Evo 860 Sata
RAM: 8 GB (QNAP shipped)
UPS: CyberPower PR2200ELCDRT2U
BACKUP: 4TB Synology DS214 FW: DSM 7.0.41890
Usage: SMB, Backup Domain Controller

maybe increase in cache ?

seems to be CMR still

According to the guide @Moogle linked-to, differences appear to be faster rotation speed (10,000RPM) with a smaller cache (16MB). :'

10k WD red ?

correct according to the linked guide but all resellers list them as:

WD Red 14TB NAS Internal Hard Drive - 5400 RPM Class, SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 512MB Cache, 3.5" - WD140EFFX

Hmm, maybe that guide is out-of-date? I can't see a publication date on it.

I wonder if there's a newer one?
