TS-673 Not Recognizing WD Blue 570

Post by Hambletw »

Finally bit the bullet to install two SSD drives for caching on my TS-673.

The WD Client Blue on the compatibility list was not available. The WD BLUE SN570 was suggested as the newer version of the older drive.

Installed both drives and the 673 does not see either one.

The spec on the WD is SN570 NVMEe SSD M.2. 2280

has anyone gotten these drives to work or did i read the specs wrong?

Thanks

All drives compatible with the TS-673 are SATA, but you've installed NVMe drives. You'll need to replace them with SATA drives.

I think the 3rd time I see this mistake across this and the german QNAP forum this week alone ... should put some auto reply bot (like they have on reddit) in the forum when the keyword "m.2" is posted in a new thread :DD

I blame the creators of the M.2 spec for allowing this confusion to occur.

ts-673

if this model supports addon cards, there are m.2 nvme addon cards (QM2: M.2 Expansion Card ???), so you could get it to work through that (assuming it supports the addon card for that qnap model)

https://www.qnap.com/en/compatibility/? ... ategory=11

but next time, u have to check the specs on the site carefully. there is m.2 sata, and then there is m.2 nvme. you have to check what the nas supports and buy accordingly
