Restrict Plex file permissions

Post by Preda2 »

Hi,
I got my 453B mini NAS today and just installed Plex Media Server. When adding a media folder I noticed that Plex Server can see all my files on the entire NAS, it seems to run as Admin which I find to be a security risk.

How can I configure that Plex can only see folders the corresponding "Plex"-User has permissions to?

Thanks :)

Hi,

Did you find a solution? I have the same problem and don't like that Plex has access to all filesystems. Especially when Plex could be set to be accessible from the Internet. I think this is not just Plex problem but QNAP/QOS in general. Most apps are installed with root privileges :(
