Can't get Plex to Start in Initial Install

Firmware 4.2.4
I have created an account on Plex. The information below has been tried with versions of Plex 1.5.3.3580 from QNAP GUI & 1.5.6.3790-4613ce077 from Plex and got the same results.
1. Installed software
2. Port Forward 32400 to local IP of server
3. Tried to open Plex. It opens a webpage xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:32400/web/index.html. The address is not my local ip rather it is my outside ip. The message on the webpage is "xx.xxx.xxx.xxx didn’t send any data.
ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE".
4. Changed the address to https://xx.xxx.xxx.xxx:32400/web/index.html and get "xx.xxx.xxx.xxx unexpectedly closed the connection. ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED"
I am trying from a windows 10 laptop on the same local network running through a Netgear WNDR4500 router.
I have search the forums and didn't find anything that helped. If you could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

Have you tried unsecure (http)?
