Looking for Server... https

Post by jds580s »

Plex Server has not been working for a while and I am trying to figure out why that is.

Setup:
  • This is on a TVS-1282 running 4.3.4.0551 (I'm slow to update to ensure things are relatively stable, but recognize it's time to do that)
  • I have Plex Media Server QPKG installed v1.13.5.291 (the version QNAP offers through AppCenter, not the latest directly from Plex)
  • Secure (https) connections is enabled in QNAP General Settings to access the NAS using a LetsEncrypt cert
  • MyQNAPCloud is enabled
  • Network Access Protection is enabled
  • I am behind a router that has the appropriate Plex TCP/UDP port open
Problem:
When I access the Plex Server web interface I get a constant "Looking for servers..." message.
I've tried different URLs
with/without https
using my ip address, and the MyQNAPCloud URL.
It used to work just fine, but hasn't in months.

What next?
Any thoughts on where should I start looking/testing first?
Do I ditch the QNAP version of Plex and go for the latest version?
Update QTS?
Try disabling HTTPS?
Are there any services that Plex is dependent on that I need to check and see if they are running?
Something else I'm missing?

Thanks!

Upgrade the firmware and run the latest PLEX from their website.
Use the forum search feature before posting.

Use RAID and external backups. RAID will protect you from disk failure, keep your system running, and data accessible while the disk is replaced, and the RAID rebuilt. Backups will allow you to recover data that is lost or corrupted, or from system failure. One does not replace the other.
