This service does not support myQNAPcloud Link error

Post by giboning »

Hi,

I just installed Plex Media Server from App Center on my Qnap TS-251, but I can't run the app from QTS Desktop.

When I try to run it, a small window pops-up with the error message "This service does not support myQNAPcloud Link".

Couldn't find this error anywhere, so looking for some help here.

Thank you.

qnap only supports a handful of services via this qnapcloudlink....plex is not one of them

if you want to use plex from outside, you either need to vpn into your LAN or expose Plex via portforwarding

Hello Dolbyman, one question, when you write "expose" a service via portforwarding it is to be use together with a dns service isn't it? I have to expose on the Internet the service itself and not access through the qnap interface on qnap cloud.
Thanks for your help.

does not matter if ddns is used or not, exposed services are vulnerable to attacks/exploits and will be found via port probing
