Hi,
I am having to send my primary NAS (TVS-872XT) into QNAP for RMA. I have backups of all data, actually onto a secondary NAS (ReadyNAS).
I can of course redirect my desktop mounts in macOS to the secondary NAS, but what about Plex? Can I install Plex Server on the secondary NAS, and have it run under the same account, and aligned with the primary setup via the account (with regards to views etc.)? Anything I need to watch out for before setting it up and possibly screwing my Plex setup...

Reading through some Plex info, I see that:
Linux & NAS
For your operating system, make a backup of the main Plex Media Server data directory. The location will vary by platform. In Linux and on NAS devices, the preferences.xml file in the main Plex Media Server directory contains the corresponding settings. So, that means there isn’t anything else special that you need to back up.
My question is; where is the fabled Plex Media Server data directory? In Plex Server I downloaded the database (leaving me with a ZIP file), but is this the file I would import into another NAS? And once I know where it is located on my QNAP, how do I access it? I certainly do not see any such directory using FileStation...

Re: Plex Sever on two NASes
Installing or updating Plex in the last year or so will have created that folder .. it's a top level share of your NAS

I am looking everywhere using FileStation and I can't find it anywhere... Maybe I miss something, but I am not seeing it...
