incomplete Qsirch indexing

Post by ozgur »

hello,
we bought a qnap 451A 4GB NAS last week and its running fine except,
qsirch is indexing our data folder which is about 1,7TB and 360K files mostly jpeg, psd and office docs. first indexing stopped about 35gb+ of files in 3 days and second indexing is about 25gb. admin has r/w rights in DATA folder and i just checked admin as owner. i dont know if its going to change anything,
and in second try, all psd and tiff folders are excluded from searching (they are mostly 25mb+) (about 30k files)
i dont know if its too much to handle for this machine or software but there is no document about its capabilities or any help file i can read,
qsrich was our motive to choose qnap over other brands. i hope i can fix it since it can be very useful tool in our workflow

Availability & Compatibility

Qsirch is available from App Center in QTS.

System Requirements: x86 models require 2GB RAM. ARM models require 4GB RAM.
Additional RAM is recommended for optimal performance.
Firmware Requirement: QTS 4.2.0 (or newer).
The file sharing function requires QTS 4.2.1 (or newer).
i tested with more than 1.7tb and 2gb ram on a 653a unit. worked fine for me.

I'm not sure what other stuff you were doing other than just qsirch indexing. Maybe if your doing a lot of intensive stuff maybe, but lack of info provided to know.

try update firmware then try again. does it work for you?

4.3.3.0229 build 20170624
https://www.qnap.com/en/product_x_down/ ... php?II=240

after that update in appcenter to latest qsirch if any.

other qsirch settings you can do is disable google analytics for privacy, and exclude folders/shares if you don't want them to be included as part of the indexing.

qsirch is essentially a google for your NAS files with additional analytics :)

If you want to boost qsirch you can try install 1 bay for SSD cache acceleration (helps improve qts and performance in general), and the remainder for hdd big storage in raid5.

If your still having issues i suggest you create a support ticket here

forum is only informal input by other qnap users, it's not really the best place for qnap to solve your issue for you.
