TES-3085U under QES

Post by zmaho »

Hi,

we have order two TES-3085U-D1548-32GR, one will work under QES and will be connect via 40Gbit inteface to server running ESXi 6.0 (soon 6.7 or 7).

Are all drives bays on one controller ?
The back panel 6 bays are SATAIII SSD only so and front panel 24 bays are SAS 12Gbit/SATAIII HDD/SSD drives. From that i can conclude it have at last
two independent controllers, one for front one for back plan or it have two controller for front panel and one for back?

Why i ask you ... if it have 2 controller for front panel, like for bays 1...12 and 12...24 then am i gonna get more speed and IOPS if i have 2 RAID front ?
If i have vm that is IO intensive using RAID on one controller it should not interfere with performance of RAID that is on other controller ?
Or should i make RAID10 using half of the raid disk on one controller (1,2,3.4.5) and other from second controller (13,14,15,16,17,18) ... would that improve
the performance or it will ruin performance for both controller?
Or if all RAID are like CPU RAID in background done by BSD.... then it is all the same?

after delay we finally got this device ...
so far it is piece of junk ...

We bought SATAIII 12Gbps drives, SEAGATE XS3840SE70004 , and the speed like 700mbps .. just a little bit faster then desktop ssd ...
we test those devices thay are like more then 1100mbps on other device.... so it look like this is not full SASIII interface....

i need to test some options but it is soooo slow ... in raid 10 it make small raid 1 ... speed gain is zero .. i even think this is slower ...

Any one else have speed issue with this junk ?
