Recently i wanted to buy a cat6a ethernet cable, but the e seller i normally buy from said they only focus on cat7 ethernet cables now when i asked when they would restock different lenghts for cat6a :'

so i did some digging and found this article that explains the difference between cat 6a and cat7.

in conclusion for 10gbe the minimum and recommended is still cat6a :'

for 2.5gbe cat5e is all you need. but i still prefer cat6a for future proofing (also since price wise it isn't that much more to me anyway)

Cat5e: 1G to 100m (328ft), 2.5G capable
Cat6: 10Gbps to 55m (180ft)
Cat6a: 10Gbps to 100m (328ft)
Cat8: 25G and 40G to 30m (98ft)

then there is the other thing to consider. flat ethernet cables or rounded cables. i get rounded, you can dyor i did. and they recommended to get rounded ideally :)
