My Cloud

Post by hakannordell »

Well, my first corner of my own

Today I received a notice to update to 4.4.3.0154 Build 20170413. It was recommended that to launch a testprogram to control that all software is compatible with 64-bit. I downloaded the test program and tried to install it on the 471. It failed, because it requires Python < version 2.7. I tried to install Python 3, but it was not accepted, so I installed Python 2.7.12. Then I run the test program, and that said that QMono is´t compliant.

Then I thought I shoud install the program on the 1635 and 431, but no. Not any of these have the Python 2.7, only Python3, and I do not want to risk anything.

So, nothing to update today :? But I updated the ReadyNas yesterday, from 4.4.3 to 6.6.1 8)

I got a version of Python that works for the 1635 (worked for the 431 also). I downloaded it from
https://www.qnap.com/en/app_center/con_ ... 2.2&seq=48
and after I installd the testprogram, it just say that QMono is not compatible.

I really don´t need the QMono on the 1635. I installed it because Radarr and Sonarr was dependent on QMono, but I don´t find any downloader that fits the 1635 and the sonarr/radarr (471 is running sonnar/radarr together with QBittorrent). So I deleted all the programs an updated firmware. Well, not yet. The disk is doing the weekly synchronizing. I will be back

Updated the 1635 to FW 4.3.3.0154 without problem, but when I were going to update the 431, the update was gone  It´s still on the download page, but not by automatic install. Hmm.. Think I skip to force the update right now. Just in case QNAP discoverd some problem with the update. So, for now, just the 1635 is updated :?

Ordered and installed the SFP+ card in the 471 a week ago. But my supplier did´t know what cabel I needed, so I ordered it direct from QNAP i Taiwan. Some of the cables is just working with the brand of the cables (HP and Cisco) so I did´t want to gamble. Now, after the cable was stuck in the customs, and I was forced to pay tax, the cable is going to be almost twice as expencive, as if I have bought here in Sweden :? Well Money to pay for learning.

I really like the look and size of 1635. It's soo ... masculine 8) Wondering if I will not buy me a 1685. The problem is then that 471 becomes unemployed, as I will probably put the Plex server in 1685. The question of how to use it then? Anyone who has any suggestions besides running dual Plex servers? I can use it as a backup instead of Netgear or 431, but it's too good for it, and in addition, the UX500P now connects to 1635 (which can be fixed separately).

I really don´t see that a another off-site backup, would set my 471 in work if I buy a 1685. Allready got 3 backup sites/stations. But.. thanks

Reorganized 431 because I always have a swap area on the hard drive. I installed a SSD as a system disk and we will see if it has the intended effect. I also changed the raid to 5, instead of raid 6... becuase I dedicates one bay to SSD.

Updated 471 with firmware 4.3.3.0154 and everything went well. I had installed QMono 4.8.0.520 earlier, and it should be remembered that after the firmware has been installed and the machine has restarted, you have to stop and start Sonarr and Radarr for everything to work.
