Not sure that this is being taken notice of, but according to the CES 2019 footage, they mentioned a refresh for the TS-X77 series to replace the cpu with the newer Ryzen2 cpus.

But when i check here it doesn't say that in specifications :' hm
https://www.qnap.com/en/product/ts-877/specs/hardware

so if you are a TS-X77 buyer, make sure you clarify which cpu it comes with :)

you can see the differences here

i got the original i'm not too bothered by the differences, doesn't seem much to affect me. but if you are a new buyer and you can get a ryzen2 instead, why not :)

Does anyone from QNAP Official poke around and confirm things of the Forums? I've emailed support (their offices are closed today in the U.S.) but the refreshed card would definitely be a nice perk to buying a new x77 series.

The passmark differences can be seen here for the Ryzen 7 1700 vs 2700: https://www.cpubenchmark.net/compare/AM ... 2970vs3240

Good catch. I've reached out to QNAP for comment but the Sales Team and QNAP DIRECT say they haven't seen any refreshed v2 cards in their incoming inventory, thus far.

QNAP direct is only a reseller and not affiliated with QNAP directly (contrary to the name)

I am also wondering that qnap would not rename a CPU refresh of the x77 series e.g. x77B etc, QNAP loves adding model numbers to their lineup

For those following along, here's an email confirmation from QNAP Systems, Inc. confirming the refresh. Though, no exact date is given.

It would be nice if we saw an option for the 3rd gen processors cards and skipped the 2700 altogether.

On CES's video said that 2nd Gen Ryzen chip available in 6,8,12-bays models only. So I suppose 16-bays tower model TS-1677X wouldn't be updated with Ryzen 2000 series CPU.
