I've had my TS251A powered down for the last few months as I deal with some health and family issues.
I find that on my local network I can share files between Macs just as easily as I can share the files off the TS251A.

I'm thinking that a better choice may be to repurpose the the TS251A drives as backup disks (with a drive dock) and sell the QNAP gear.
