QNAP Introduces QXG-10G2T-107, a Dual-port 5-Speed 10GBASE-T NIC for NAS or PC

Taipei, Taiwan, September 3, 2019 – QNAP® Systems, Inc. today introduced the new QXG-10G2T-107, a dual-port PCI Express (PCIe) 10GBASE-T/NBASE-T™ NIC that supports 5 network speeds. It can be installed in a compatible QNAP NAS or a Windows®/Linux® PC with PCIe 2.0 x4 slots, providing organizations or individuals with a flexible and economical 10GbE network connectivity solution.
The QXG-10G2T-107 uses the Aquantia® AQtion AQC107S Ethernet controller that supports 10/5/2.5/1Gbps and 100Mbps network speeds. The RJ45 connector design also allows users to use existing cables. Transmission speeds can reach up to 5Gbps when using CAT-5e cables, or up to 10Gbps when using CAT 6 (or advanced versions) cables, unleashing the full potential of the QXG-10G2T-107.
“As 10GbE network environment becomes more common, QNAP continues to deliver cost-effective 10GbE solutions,” said Dan Lin, Product Manager of QNAP, adding “Following QNAP’s release of the single-port Multi-Gig QXG-10G1T NIC, the newly rolled out dual-port QXG-10G2T-107 NIC also leverages Aquantia Ethernet controller to offer Multi-Gig transfer rates, helping users to easily upgrade their PCs or NAS systems with 10Gbps capability to accommodate intensive data transfer and boost productivity of team collaboration and personal workflows.”
Windows and Linux users can download drivers from NIC manufacturer Aquantia’s website. Using the QXG-10G2T-107 in a QNAP NAS requires QTS 4.3.6 or later.
Additionally, QNAP is offering 15% discount on popular PCIe network cards featuring Mellanox® ConnectX®-4 Lx SmartNIC - the 25GbE QXG-25G2SF-CX4 and 10GbE QXG-10G2SF-CX4 network NICs. Both cards can be installed in a NAS or PC, and support iSER (iSCSI Extension for RDMA) to offload CPU workloads and optimize VMware® virtualization performance.

confused by this diagram. isn't the white QSW switch series only have a single 10gbe? (the other 2 is SFP, and the remaining is all 1gbit ports). So if you got the desktop pc and the NAS connecting to the switch, one of them will be using a 1gbit port and be capped at that speed, am i understanding this correctly? because i recall earlier in the youtube even they mentioned to use the black qsw switch that comes with more than 1 x 10gbe port

I am very happy that this card is finally coming out.
Now, I can only hope for a better managed 10G switch !

which means under $200 from any UK or US dealer. So it's about $160 less than the Intel based LAN-10G2T-X550. The performance of the Aquantia AQC-107 has been fantastic -
especially if you are an Apple user (and for PC's, I typically have been getting 1000 MB/sec when placed in a Win 10 PC to a QNAP). I love having the spare port for multiple reasons -
1) in case port # 1 dies
2) if you have a second existing network attached storage system that you still own, that you have to connect to.
LACP does NOT work from client to switch for increased speeds, so this will not give anyone 2000 MB/sec from a client computer to a switch that goes to a QNAP (LACP DOES work from
switch to QNAP for 20 Gb/sec - just not client to switch).
It's still a great product, at a great price compared to anything else on the market.
No more ATTO NT-12's for me. And we will have to see if this in fact can do what a LAN-10G2T-X550 can do, when put inside a TS-1683XU-RP or TX-1677XU-RP. It is certainly cheap enough to try.

Nice looking card. Bob is surely salivating on this one for his users
Don't really have a need for it, especially until Ubiquiti comes out with a more affordable 10GbE Unifi switch with more copper ports

I wish Ubiquiti would just make their mind up and stop the Tyranid of beta product that are tested, then never go into actual production, or they pull production anyway.
It's like they used to be indecisive, but now they're not sure

yea, I have to agree with you. There is no question that Ubiquiti now owns the WiFi market, but as far as baseband switches, I just don't know what they are thinking.
Hey, I can complain about Ubiquiti not competing properly with Netgear, but heck - this is a QNAP forum - what's taking QNAP so long to compete with Netgear on the switches ?
