Was thinking about a post on something like Storj, Sia, Filecoin or something elseeinRoboter-
This is very different.
Filecoin and sia actually store useful data and reduce the need for individuals to buy storage space.
Chia creates an entirely new usecase for hard drives, therefore competing directly with anyone who wants to use Hard drives to actually store Data they need.
as if graphics cards hoarding by crypto miners wasnt enuff (making availability for gamers scarce and more expensive), now there is a possibility that the same could happen to hard drives and maybe even ssds
this is bad news
these youtubes explain what da hek is chia

anyway my point is, depending on how this trend goes, it may negatively affect hdd/ssd prices for people who actually use them for things like their qnap nas etc. maybe buy hdd sooner rather than later perhaps? i'm not due yet but i'm keeping watch on how this goes.
