TVS-871 - Help!!

Post by gnicholls »

Hi,
I've got a TVS-871 and have just applied a firmware update 4.3.5. I had two drives in the machine, but only one in use with all of the system files and my data (typically I have an 8TB disk turning up today so that I can create a RAID setup). I had setup the device as a Domain controller, but since the firmware update my device no longer has the configuration set for the Domain controller and none of my users can login / see their data. If I login as local admin I can' get to a fully functioning GUI, if I open File Station 5 I can see all of the shares but when I select a share I get the message "The file or folder does not exist".

If I navigate to "storage and snapshots" there I can see my disk (volume1) but it has a status of "unmounted".

Could anyone help / give pointers on how to go about fixing this or even how to just access the files so that I can copy them off and reformat everything

Many thanks

Dumb question for which apologies - have you tried rebooting the NAS?
TS-431+ for storage and media and a bunch of IP cams under Surveillance Station. TVS-473 as files backup and QVR Pro.

You may also want to consider opening a ticket with QNAP and possible ask to have this topic moved to the appropriate forum since this appears to be an AD related topic and nit a users corner topic.

A more appropriate title will probably be helpful as well.

I tried to open a ticket with QNAP but the site is not accepting the serial number off of the machine and so I can't register.

I'll try a more suitable forum and title based on your suggestion, but wasn't really sure where the issue lies beyond the firmware update (potentially)

What options are there under the Actions drop-down against the problem disk?

I've got "Check File System" and "Format". I have tried the "Check" and this comes back with a "Failed to check file system..." but without an explanation as to why.

Have you tried rolling back to the firmware version you came from?
This could rule out if the problem lies in the new firmware version.

I have not, I'm nervous of doing anything that might make the situation worse and cause me to permanently lose the data
