fwiw, I bumped up the RAM and CPU in a TS-470. I used a Xeon E3-1265L V2 and a pair of 8gb SO-DIMMs. Seems to be working great. Didn't have to do anything in software, the OS booted just fine and the about box lists the correct processor.
I went with the E3 1265L V2 since the 3770T is an OEM part and typically a bit more expensive. The RAM are A-Tech PCL-12800, and have been running with the original CPU for several weeks.
This is basically just a backup server so it wasn't a problem spending a few bucks to bump the performance. It'll make a handy VM server for a few things.
I ran geekbench on it with the new chip (but alas forgot to run it on the old G550T).
Geekbench 4: 3400-Single-Core 12112-Multi-Core https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/16163601
Geekbench 5: 703-Single-Core 2902-Multi-Core Score https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/7796033
This contrasted to a stock CPU TVS-671:
Geekbench 4: 3433-Single-Core 5615-Multi-Core https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/16138159
Geekbench 5: 658-Single-Core 905-Multi-Core Score https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/7796089
I have an i7-4790S that I'm going to put into the 671, sometime next week. I'll update the benchmark results then.
