Spam posts on the forum

Post by ColHut »

Just wondering why there seems to be a rise of I suppose bot spam posts showing up?

I guess the admins purge and block as fast as they can but it just seems worse at the momment.

Report them when you see them (exclamation icon) ..so the mods can delete them.

There is no admin for this forum...QNAP has given up on that task a while ago

The number of spambots banned each day has been roughly the same for the last couple of years. How quickly they get banned depends on the time-of-day they post, the time-of-day the posts are reported, and the availability of moderators. Sometimes they're banned so quickly, no-one gets to read their posts.

I'm quite active in banning them, but not here all-the-time. A single spambot posted a few ads last night and began this shortly after I had fallen asleep, so those posts hung around a little longer than usual. ;)
