DLNA-Server cannot play mov-Files

Post by martinelli »

Hi Forum,

with Twonky (QTS4.2.x) on my old Qnap I was able, to watch Videos in mov-Format. The the new DLNA-Server (QTS4.3.x) cannot play them...

Is there a way, to make this work on the new DLNA Server, too?

Thanks in advance.

regards
martinelli

What model Qnap? What QTS version and build? Some models have had Twonky brought back with b299 of the firmware.

If DLNA won’t play it, then I would open a Helpdesk ticket with QNAP. You can always buy a Twonky license if your model isn’t on the list for it “coming back” for $20. Other options are use something like Handbrake to convert the file to a format that DLNA likes.

It's a TS-453A, running the latest QTS-Version (4.3.3.0299), but there is no twonky in the app store.

DLNA doesn't see any Videofiles (mov) in each directory on my Qnap. It always tells me "no files...". Other videos, like mp4 and showing pics and playing music works fine.

Where can I buy a twony-license?

twonky is not in the appstore...if eligible you can activate it as a feature (checkbox) ... under DLNA servers

search google or this forum for download links for twonky
