Admin Page - cannot login

I have a TS-212P running 4.3.3.1693
Today all of a sudden I cannot log into the admin page in the browser.
It says login credentials are incorrect or your account is no longer valid
I am using default login and password (admin / admin)

I tried the 3 second reset and reboot the NAS, and it was working again... I was logged in the admin page and then it kicked me out, and was no longer able to log in.
I can ssh and I can use winscp using admin/admin
Qfinder finds the NAS and I can get information about the NAS using the admin/admin credentials... it is just the web page that does not work...

Any ideas what I can do?

Is you NAS web exposed..if so, malicious takeover on default credentials is a high possibility

no, not exposed... the only way in is on local network... I never set up external access or remote access
