Network issue after latest firmware upgrade

Post by gatto_mannaro »

Dears
I've got a quite new TS-453D with 6TBx4 Raid5
After the latest firmware upgrade, I'm experiencing serious network issues
When I turn on the NAS with all disks inside, it start loading, at a certain point I'm also able to log in and find it in the Qfinder app, but after a certain point (loading services I suppose) something happen and it crashes my local network and I can't log in anymore as well as it is no more visible with Qfinder
I did a trial to start without disks, and it seems Ok of course it arrives up to a certain point and it tells me that there is nothing installed.

Is there a way to reset my account (admin was disabled) keeping all data safe?
thank you alot!

3 second reset does not touch the data, but if your fear for it, your backup strategy needs rethinking (a RAID is not a backup)

thanx but I tried the 3 seconds reset and it is not effective.
Just to be sure, I turn it on, I push the 3 seconds (there is a red led that start blinking) but.... all is exactly the same.

The NAS has to be running for the reset switch to execute the scripts .. so don't do it at startup.

Make sure you did not disable the switch in the GUI

Actually, it is the same. I press the reset button once the qnap was on (in the lapse before it crashes the network).
Once again, red blinking, restart... a nothing. Same profile as before.
Im logging with my account, shall I try to ender as admin? (it was disabled) but it is automatic so I don't think it makes any difference

Moreover, I saw that the system is blocked when the firewall is loaded.
Is there a command or something that i can use to stop and disable the firewall during the start
up?

admin should be re-enabled when the 3 second reset is done (you are holding it for 3 seconds .. right?)

Yes u are right, admin was enabled, still my old account is also active
The point is that in both cases the firewall is loaded, and when that service is activated it is the disaster
Is there a way in these 2 mins in the startup to stop this service forever? Of course I can't open it because it is not loaded yet, I shall do something that cancels that app.

according to this, the QuFirewall will be stopped with the reset as well

https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/knowledg ... ss-the-nas

If that is not the case, the 3 second reset is not working right

Agreed. It SHALL be stopped.
The main point that the system is crashing when this service is loaded. Maybe it is loaded OFF? no idea. but it is evident that it is bugged.
So, is there a way that I can DELETE this service?

EDIT: finally I did it, in the short time I had, i was able to log in, enter in the app and disinstalla the firewall. And the problem disappeared.
