Can't reach the NAS over vpn

Post by jupiler »

Hello all,

I have two location and one of this location i have NAS Qnap TS470 Pro.

VPN tunnel created between Asus routers each location over open VPN

for explain more clear (sorry for my mistakes in english.);

location A (Can't connect only to nas, all other devices in location B connectable)
192.168.1.0/24

location B (NAS is Here)
192.168.3.0/24

And the tunnel is
10.8.0.0/24

Qnap Nas located in location B. as you can guess no any problem for devices in location B to reach to NAS. also all devices in location B can reach any other devices in location A.

For the devices in location A all can reach location B any connect all any oher devices located in B. only they can't connect to the NAS.

I try to change setting in control panel/security/"deny-allow list" "allow all conection" but didn't solve my problem.

Is there anyone can give me some other idea how i can solve this mystery.
Thanks

Any NAS on the VPN director? (If Merlin is installed)

I have seen this if a NAS on one location is on a selective outbound VPN tunnel.

No .. VPN director is on Merlin FW on Asus routers (hands down the best firmware to run if you want to use VPN on ASUS)

https://www.asuswrt-merlin.net/

Check and disable any allow/deny lists and remove QuFirewall aswell

I dont have any problem about router and vpn connection between. all other devices in bot location can reach each other. only qnap nas can't reachable from other location.
I try merlin-wrt but my problem same on the nas.
also i can't found qufirewall on qnap marketplace and its not installed on my nas.

If the allow and deny list enables ICMP for a little while, I think that will be be the issue. (maybe a bug or broken config) I do site2site VPN via ASUS routers all the time, no problem.

no need to get Qufirewall as the advice was to remove it .. so if it is not installed .. no need to look for it

Are any virtual switches installed? (not sure if supported on your NAS)
More than one ethernet connected on this NAS?
