Hello
I'm looking at 2 QNAP models
- TS-1673AU-RP at 3240€ VAT inc (France)
- TS-873A at 1150€ VAT inc (France)
I think there is a huge price difference, for 8 more Disk trays and a redundant 550W PSU.
Same CPU, RAM max
Same Expansion Slots
What did I miss ?
thanks in advance
Price difference is due to .... ?

Rackmount vs. Tower (Rackmount is always more expensive)
16 vs 8 Disk Bays
Single vs. Dual Power Supply
Unclear why the price difference is unclear

I come from PC building economy
If you have a Case 5x more expensive (with more drive bay) and a Double power Supply ... the Global price is not more than 2,5x more expensive like with those 2 QNAP models
Thus my questions
But it seems natural to you .. may be it has been always like this with NASes.
I'm honestly asking what's cost so much ?
I can accept "Good question, Nobody knows, it's like this" as an answer
Thanks

Do a price comparison for a tower model vs a rackmount (same specs) at DELL/HP/etc... its pretty much 50-100% price increase...more bays + RP ..that explains the price
