hello, i have a qnap ts431tx unit.
Ive been using it happily for the past fortnight and managed to access my files from it using either of two or three laptops connected to it via a netgear 16 channel switch.
All going well until this morning. I was tidying up the office and looking to relocate the qnap nas - I powered it off (there's no monitor so I just held the power button until it all went off). I tidied up my office and now trying to reconnect.
It's lost all my settings and I don't seem to be able to access the harddrives at all anymroe.
What am I doing wrong please?

Re: Powered down and cannot recover
You did the worst what you can do!
Pressing and holding the power button and the NAS shuts down immediately, without ending services, without unmounting volumes.
In worst case you now have a damaged filesystem.
A NAS must not be treated as a PC/laptop!
Connect NAS to LAN, use i.e. Qfinder to check, if NAS is responsive. Find out, which IP is now used at NAS, try to connect with a browser and report status here for further steps!
My guess, there is also no backup available?
Regards

A raid is never a substitute for backup! Never!
