Slow copy with QM2-2P10G1TA 10GB Cards on TVS-871

Post by jknight2 »

I have two TVS-871 NAS units with one QM2-2P10G1TA (2 x M.2 2280 PCIe (Gen2 x 2) NVMe SSD slots; 1x 10GBASE-T port) in each device.

- I am using one Cat 8 Ethernet Cable 5 ft cable directly connected to each card.
- I am running them through the Network & Virtual Switch. Each device has the 10.10.10.10 and 10.10.10.20 assigned network addresses with Jumbo Frames (9K).
- I am running two 1TB M.2 SSDs on the card (RAID 1) with Read-Write Cache Acceleration with 500 GB active.
- I am using QNAP File Station to copy with CIFS/SMB to mount the volumes from the remote system to create the copy.

I am moving about 60TBs of data and my file copy speed is only 100-200 MBs transfer speeds and not much at the high end of that speed.

What can I do to make the copy go faster?

disable cache and test again...what is 1TB cache supposed to do when transferring 60x the cache size ? (besides bottlenacking)
