TVS-872XT upgrade to Thunderbolt 4
Has anyone tried swapping the TB3 card for a TB4 card? Would it work with this (original) MB of this NAS? and can I get the full 40gb when directly connected with Macbook Pro and/or a thunderbold 4 HUB?

IF a non approved adapter would work it would need to go into slot1

AND it could stop working at any point (firmware updates etc)
Are you running full SSD's in there or what do you need 40GbE for?

Thx Dolbyman,
I had recently upgraded to the M1 MBP which has the TB4 ports. As I do more and more work directly between the NAS and the MBP and the NAS is practically the center of everything in my home network, the question came up on potential upgrades. Got you on the slot1, thanks for that advise. If I would try it, it would be a swap for the TB3 card, not and extension.
