Hi to all,
our QNAP TS-463U-RP works always above 54% CPU load. I checked the running processes and seems that 2 instances of _thttpd process (kernel processes) taking 70% of the load. What is this _thttpd process? Our Nas is not open to Web. Is this something I can stop ? Thanks in advance

Re: QNAP TS-463U-RP HIGH CPU LOAD
Just checked one of our units, ours are averaging 0-1% but they are not heavily used.
We have 3-5 processes (1-2 zombie 2-4 running sleeping)
This unit I am checking has rebooted last night after automatically updating firmware (I was trying to find out why it has only just applied).
httpd is a web server instance, if nothing is hitting it I would try restarting the unit if you can and if not check logs for anything which might show something hitting the server, if you can find nothing I would contact QNap support.

Re: QNAP TS-463U-RP HIGH CPU LOAD
@jaysona recently posted a good description of the 'thttpd' process here: viewtopic.php?p=824275#p824275
You may find the process is only using that much CPU while you're reading the CPU usage values in your particular web browser.
No, you can't stop it.
What QTS version is installed? What browser are you using to access the QTS UI?
You could also check that process's CPU usage via SSH when you've logged-out of the QTS UI. It should be much lower when it has nothing to-do.

Re: QNAP TS-463U-RP HIGH CPU LOAD
i have the same problem with my TVS-473e that never drops belou 70% cpu usage.
This started after i tried to use the container station to rum some tests.
Qnap support is just unable to find the reason and very slow.

Container station consumes many resources. The best use of a NAS is as a simple storage device.
Remove the "bloat", and monitor cpu and other resource utilization from SSH.
