Hi and welcome to the forum.

The OP has already done this. ;)

Just had a thought: as the OP is an Apple Mac user, we should probably make sure they understand the difference between their Apple Mac and the MAC of the first NAS NIC. ;)

Now every password I enter says FAILED TO RESET User's Password.
hm

to my understanding, when you do soft reset, the nas will then use the mac1 address. refer here for the specifics
https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/faq/arti ... -explained

then, you go to the qnap nas url. usually we do this from qfinder, open web administration. OR, you can type it in manually, up to you.

So once you are on the qnap nas login page (u didn't explain how exactly you are logging into the nas, but i will simply assume you are doing so from the admin web ui since you did not clarify), then enter the username and the password. It should work.

if you get the message "incorrect credentials", it's highly likely u entered the wrong credentials. So check carefully....... sometimes you need to assume maybe you did it wrong, and check.... so don't always assume you did it correctly.
