Configure upsmon via ssh

Post by AusKarlos »

Hey guys, i've moved my UPS over to a different server as the NUT usb driver seems to have much better support with my brand of UPS (PowerShield). The issue im now facing is that I cant seem to configure the Qnap into slave mode. I have to disregard the Qnap UI as the remote connection requires a password so I went into

Code: Select all

/etc/config/ups/upsmon.conf
and change the monitor line to reflect the correct ups and address.
MONITOR powershield@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx 1 <user> <pass> slave

I then restarted upsmon by doing

Code: Select all

upsmod -c reload
however when I do a test shutdown from the Master Qnap will not do anything. Its really hard to debug these issues when Qnap moves away from alot of linux default log locations or doesn't use journal. Because I can't even tell if Qnap is correctly setup and is listening to the master server.

Please use forum search. There are several threads about is.
And btw: for QNAP credentials are admin/123456. These are hardcoded (great deal, QNAP  ).

Regards

P.S. Why using SSH? This can be set in GUI very comfortable!?
