Use the DOM image you already have from: https://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/Firmware_Recovery

Assuming you can boot the system after re-flashing the DOM, you should be able flash the latest QTS using Qfinder:
https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/knowledg ... by-qfinder
https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/knowledg ... -installed

Assuming you can SSH into the QNAP, you can fix the MAC address using one of the following procedures:
https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/knowledg ... l-firmware
https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/knowledg ... y-firmware

Otherwise, open a ticket with QNAP. https://www.qnap.com/en/support-ticket/

Users cannot provide you with DOM images that are not already linked on the following page. https://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/Firmware_Recovery

and if you feel you can't cope on your own even with instructions, you can try send it to a local IT repair shop and give these instructions to fix it for you.

If not, then cut your losses and buy a replacement qnap nas :}

You can decrypt the QTS image files using the python scripts.
https://gist.github.com/ulidtko/966277a ... 674dcee741

Code: Select all

./qnap.py d {key} TS-X53_20210515-4.5.3.1670.img TS-X53_20210515-4.5.3.1670.img.tgz
tar -xzvf TS-X53_20210515-4.5.3.1670.img.tgz
Not sure which directory/file is the DOM image, assuming it's even there.

Is it possible that I actually did not perform the DOM flash at all?
No worries. QNAP mirrors the device configuration in multiple locations/drive partitions. Your device has just restored your settings from one of those places to the DOM.
TS 409 Pro - decommissioned
TS 559 Pro+ - degraded to an iSCSI target, disabled all services
TS 651 + UX 800P 3xRAID5 (as Storage Pool 1), actually RAID50 + 1 Single Drive (test VMs/temp data, QTS apps)

Hi everyone, I have a Qnap TS-470 pro NAS.
After an update it never recovered and always shows "SYSTEM BOOTING".
Connecting an HDMI screen shows the icon and the wording "STARTING ..."
I then tried with Firmware recovery, but now it shows this error: "/sbin/daemon_mgr: error while loading shared libraries: libuLinux_config.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory"
https://i.imgur.com/aO9rk3U.jpg
I'm sure the DOM is not burned out because the green led was flashing during recovery.
I also bought the USB adapter as I read on the first page, I created the USB stick, but it is not recognized by the NAS, even if I try to insert it in all possible combinations.
I don't have many ideas left, maybe buy a new DOM? On ebay there are, like this https://www.ebay.it/itm/304053858212?ha ... BMnKeM0thg...
Anyone have any advice for me?
Thank you

Update:
I followed this guide viewtopic.php?f=25&t=97200&p=825614#p623681, so I decrypted image 4.3.6,
and through an Ubuntu Live I manually inserted the files into the DOM.
Now the Nas starts up and gets to the "Starting ..." screen, it stays there for 5 minutes and then the Login screen comes out, I enter admin / admin but then nothing happens.
I can't think that anything else is broken, there always seems to be some startup problem.
Now I have no more ideas.
Hope someone can help me. Thank you

You did not copy the correct firmware image to the DOM, the only firmware that can be copied directly to the DOM is the recovery firmware, all other firmware versions need to be installed via the admin webpage, Qfinder or using the command line firmware update.

You'll notice that the recovery firmware .img file is much larger than the other firmware image files. This is becasue the recovery firmware image file has the proper filesystem and partition layout, whereas the regular firmware update just have files at copied to the various partitions.

The only way forward I see for you is to install F_TS-470_20140519-1.2.8 using the firmware recover method as described here: https://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/Firmware_Recovery
Link to recovery firmware: http://eu1.qnap.com/Storage/tsd/fullima ... -1.2.8.img

Then you will need to install version 4.1.0 of the TS-470 firmware using Qfinder, then you may need to install 4.2.2 before going to the latest version of 4.3.6 firmware.

QNAP may have fixed the issue now with the latest 4.3.6 firmware, but back in late 2020 when I last did a firmware recovery on a TS-670 Pro, I could not install 4.3.6 directly from the recovery firmware, I had to perform a couple of intermediary firmware installs in order for 4.3.6 to be installed.

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately I have already tried several times with the firmware F_TS-470_20140519-1.2.8 but this doesn't make the NAS work, it gets stuck on the screen "Decompressing linux ... Parsining ELF ... done.
Booting the kernel. "
All this is very unnerving, I do not understand if there are other problems, perhaps in the motherboard, but everything seems to be working fine.
Now I have purchased a new DOM on ebay and I hope it will arrive soon to do more tests.
Meanwhile, if anyone has other ideas to suggest I will be grateful.
Thanks
