Adding additional nodes to Node-Red

Are there any instructions to add additional user contributed nodes to Node-Red? In my current solution (on a Raspberry Pi) I'm able to add through either command line using NPM or through the Manage Palette menu item. It appears this has been removed in the Qiot solution, which cripples it a bit in my opinion. Am I missing something? Is this possible, I'm just not seeing it?

Same question here. I had to install NPM first in my RPi to get the option of managing the palette to appear. The option was not installed by default. And after that install the additional node.
Is installing NPM the solution?
