Hi all, i have an unusual, maybe common for some others.
my ISP has decided to implement CGNAT.
I am currently based in china shanghai. but I have a hosting domain in hongkong.
the question is how do i do a reverse SSH tunnel like what NGROK is doing.
reverse SSH tunnel from china to hongkong.

Re: reverse SSH tunnel from china to hongkong.
so your shanghai isp is doing cgnat .. and you have some webhosting in hongkong
what is your goal? ...why do need to traverse it ? .. I guess a qnap is involved somewhere ?

Re: reverse SSH tunnel from china to hongkong.
my qnap is based in shanghai, I just happened to have domain and webhosting in hongkong.
I am hoping to use my hongkong to traverse my shanghai qnap.
apparently shanghai is doing this on a large scale. I had thought that 100.64.xx.xx was the range. but i have seen it gone as high as 100.69.xx.xx
my internet plan is actually a business/commercial plan. not residential.

Re: reverse SSH tunnel from china to hongkong.
is it webhosting only or an actual server with dedicated/virtual resources?
even if you can use your web domain to traverse your cgnat .. exposing your nas is dangerous ...lots of nas get hacked that way

Re: reverse SSH tunnel from china to hongkong.
hmmm ok. another explaination.
my connection at the office is a 1000mbps download and 100mbps upload.
however connecting directly the forwarded port outside of china gets reduced to 1mbps both ways.
the tunnel was meant also as a alternative to bypass the great firewall. I have VPNed to hongkong and I am able to upload 100mbps. but if my friend connected to my forwarded port, it gets reduced to 1mbps. yeah. go figure..
also my objective wasnt the SSH directly but rather to forward it to my nextcloud app running at port 45083.
so I was hoping to access cloud.hongkong.com:80 (reverse tunnel like NGROK) to shanghai.myqnapcloud.com:45083
I do know that i have to connect the shanghai qnap server to the hongkong shared hosting server. so how do I do it?
it's a shared webhosting by bluehost. but i have successfully SSH to the hongkong server.
