Hello,
I just got a TS-473. What did you use to connect to the serial console?
Regards,
Gary

Hi Gary,

You have to build a cable by yourself. See the attached photos.
What's your problem and you need the console cable?

Re: QNAP TS-473 firmware recovery problem
Hi Peripc,
My TS-473 is brand new and under warranty so no issues yet.
I'm just building my toolkit if and when I have problems as I tend to keep my technology for a long time.
As laptops and mother boards are no longer coming with DB9 serial ports, I would probably swap the DB9 for a RJ45 to use a serial port to USB adapter like what I use for my Cisco POE switch's console.
Thanks!

Re: QNAP TS-473 firmware recovery problem
Hello.
Somebody here knows if the console is useable with an FT232R <-> USB Cable?
I have one, my TS-473 doesn't not boot (it doesn't beep and isn't visible in the network).
It has an "audio" plug like the one in the photos here and the other is an male USB-A. I can't get any text to show with my serial terminal client.
Thanks

Hi and welcome to the forum.
There was another discussion regarding the console port in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=73&t=144489
Yes, cable looks correct (but can't say for-sure on the 3.5mm end). QNAP have previously confirmed the console port is RS-232 @ 115,200 bps.colombianjoker wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 8:23 am Somebody here knows if the console is useable with an FT232R <-> USB Cable?
That may be due to the power-on issue the NAS has.colombianjoker wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 8:23 am I can't get any text to show with my serial terminal client.

Hello. Can anybody help me with an image to the internal software of a TS-473? The software to write onto the internal DOM?
Thanks!
Thanks!

@serhans do you have a copy of your new DOM? If so would you mind providing it to me? I have the same issue and do not feel like going through RMA process.

Re: QNAP TS-473 firmware recovery problem
Hello!
Can somebody reupload the image please? Thanks in advance..
My TS-873 keeps resetting itself constantly, i think the data on my DOM is corrupt...
I´ve tried switching RAM modules and even replacing the DOM with an flash-drive. (I copied the image from the dom with another pc onto an flash-drive, but my NAS just behaves the same.)
