Re: QNAP TS-473 firmware recovery problem
Hi,
I also have some problems with my TS-473...
It started with random freeze und reboots...
System TS-473
4x8TB IronWolf 2x512GB Samsung 860 EVO
2x 4GB Kingston, 2x 16GB Crucial
Right now it is not booting into the system anymore....
Only with one 4GB Kingston module and no HDD/SSD it ist booting...
Push Power Button
1. Long System Beep
2. Short System Beep
3. ADATA DOM is blinking for 4-5 Sec
4. Thats it... no ping and not showing in QFinder
Video: https://www.icloud.com/iclouddrive/0hcL ... Q#IMG_0336
I already tried:
- Replacing the power suply
- HDD in/out, M2 SSD in/out
- RAM in/out, all different combinations und slots (with anything else than a single 4GB module you don't even hear the system beep)
In addition I recognise that the CPU gets hot...
So once I had a chance to disable the Smart-Fan Control and set it to 100%... but with no luck... it freeze again...
What I want to do:
Ordered a PCIe grafic card to see what is really going on... or are there other options?
Look to me like the Problem with the TS-453, where power supply and DOM failed... Thats why I have a USB Dongle in my TS-453, but as far I can remember it doesn't even beeped... maybe something else..
But as I said with any other ram combination there is no system beep. That means it couldn't be the DOM right?
This is the booting order, right?
Power -> System und RAM init -> 1. System Beep -> HDD / SSD / DOM init -> 2. System Beep -> Boot from DOM
But I would also be happy to get the TS-473 Recovery Image and if you have, any help what I can try to do.
Thanks in advance
Thomas

I found using a gpu on my TS-473 to be quite useful in trouble shooting issues. You can then access bios, install linux / windows and do all sorts of tests. In either case, I uploaded the original firmware again.

Re: QNAP TS-473 firmware recovery problem
Hi all,
Got a GPU, so finally I see a bit more and it stuck at "Booting the kernel". I recovered the DOM... with the image above and I also got the image from Qnap...
But it doesn't fix my problem.
NAS ist completly empty no hdd, no ssd, only one 4GB RAM Module. If I get a System Beep it stuck at "Booting the kernel"...
Anything else I can do?

Re: QNAP TS-473 firmware recovery problem
The problem i had was also not the DOM... The power supply caused the issues As soon as i´ve put another power supply in, everything worked fine againfarma80 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 4:18 pm Hi all,

Why don’t you try booting the nas with a linux live cd or windows? Those operating systems give you more visibility on where your system gets stuck.farma80 wrote:Hi all,

When i start lets say xubuntu form stick, as soon as the menu show I have ~1 sec to select anything, if I'm not fast enough the system freezes...
Also sometimes I don't even get a system beep...
