Which NIC does QVPN connection route?

Hi all I have a question I can’t seem to find the answer to.

I have a QNAP NAS with two NIC Ethernet included. I have two different internet providers (one landline based and one Cellular / 4G modem).

The 4G has better speeds to is set as my default internet gateway. I need the other connected to enable LAN access so have to have both Ethernet ports connected to two LANs.

When I set up a vpn, it’s not clear which NIC/ gateway it’s routing through? Any ideas? I want to specify it to route through the one with the better connection.
