TS-473 - unlabled port to the left of the top screw for the audio jacks

Hello,

I just got a TS-473 at a that should hold me for awhile.

There is a port to the left of the top screw holding the 3 audio connectors. When I look at the motherboard, I see it labeled as "com1_j1". Any idea as to what it used for?

The anonymous 3.5mm socket has been queried before and was confirmed by QNAP as being an RS-232 port (so, only used by QNAP techs).

Or 'advanced users' that need to interact with their partially bricked QNAP, as that model has no monitor output

That's good to know. Hopefully there will no need for me to use it! Or, send my NAS back to QNAP.
