TS-431K Won't Stop Beeping
Just started this afternoon, and it's EXTREMELY annoying. I previously disabled all sounds from the Hardware section and yet this thing just beeps and beeps and beeps. It beeps twice in three seconds or so, then waits and beeps twice after thirty seconds or so.
Going through the logs. Nothing seems amiss. Nothing is showing up in the notifications and I have restarted the device.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Also, why does that Hybrid Backup Service take 9-12 minutes to shutdown?

No warning level triggered in for pool or volume space ?

At best I get threshold warnings. But that's never caused beeps before and not even remotely filled the drives up.
Even stranger is that it will seem to stop for 10 minutes, then when you think it's gone away, it restarts.

Try to disable all threshold warnings and see if that helps

Not even sure if that's even possible. I've been scouring these dialog boxes for hours.

I remember seeing that but couldn't remember how to get back to it.
It's disabled now. I might be in a lull between beeping sessions but I have my fingers crossed.

That was the absolute first thing I checked. No faults detected.

Re: TS-431K Won't Stop Beeping
After hours of struggling with QNAP's system which kept rejecting my computer generated passwords, I've decided to take my drives out of this device, buy a Synology NAS and take a hammer to this TS-431K.
This experience just confirms my hatred of software "engineers", which I now view as less worthy than common vermin.

What's with people and destroying their NAS ?
Returning,Selling.. not an option anymore ? Jeebus.
And while QNAP has some issues, a beep from a unit from an unknown cause might not be enough to call QNAP "engineers" names.

Re: TS-431K Won't Stop Beeping
It's not just QNAP "engineers", it's the profession as a whole, of which QNAP's very own have contributed to this view. Shoddy work from software "engineers" is now an expectation.
If the situation is bad enough to beep, it should be bad enough to provide feedback somewhere as a notification or in a log.
But it just beeps. And beeps. And beeps. Despite it supposedly being disabled via the software interface. Makes me wonder if the last firmware update broke that somehow. It will stop for 10 or 15 minutes. Then it restarts beeping again.
