Sorry in advance if I've posted to the wrong area, but I'm not sure what my issue is...
I have a TS-251 with two HDDs installed, I split my data across the drives (no raid) and have a set of shared folders, a couple on each drive.
Today I have found:
- I can't login to the admin console
- I can't access any shared folders
- I can't ping the device from my PC (I usually can)
On the front panel there is a single, solid, red light (HDD 1) , so it's possible:
- The HDD has run out of space (Please let this be the cause)
- The HDD has failed
I've had to directly connect my PC to LAN 1 on the NAS for Qfinder to see the device, Then I could see Qfinder shows there might be a disk issue, but....
I'm unable to access any tools in Qfinder, other than the Configuration option (Which isn't any help in this case).
When I attempt to use, Details, Resource Monitor etc I receive the following message:
Login Failed. There was no response from the server
My Questions
I have so many, but let me filter out only a few...
- Why can't I access the the web interface?
- Why won't it respond to a ping?
- Why can't I access the shared folders on HDD2?
- Can I recover anything from HDD1 ( I know you'd only be guessing, but give me some hope please) ?
What I'm hoping is that the configuration/setup isn't lost
- Do I simply cut my losses and replace HDD1 - loosing all my data etc?
