Yes, another drive spin down question...TS-128A

Post by Screwdriver »

I had my TS-128A spinning down after 30 minutes of inactivity and it has worked well. I was curious if it was actually working by looking at SMART load_cycle_count and the number would change that coincided with starting a PC that had a drive mapped etc. Then for no reason, it just won't go to sleep anymore. Nothing changed, added or installed.

So, I am assuming that if the load_cycle_count does not change, then the drive is spinning full time?

Anyhow, from reading recent threads, getting the NAS to sleep is pretty futile....is this also correct?

Thanks
